Aloha!

Welcome to the online home of World Core Surf.  After 20 years in the retail business we have decided to hit the web so people around the country can easily shop for Aloha inspired apparel and accessories.

Our passion for the surf industry has taken us from Hawaii to California and finally, back to Hawaii again.  It all began in Kailua-Kona, our beloved home.  We opened our first surf shop, Hobie Sports, in the Kona Inn shopping village in 1979.  It soon became the hottest surf shop in Kona.  From there we decided to head over to Maui, where we opened 5 more stores. 

With the surf industry booming, we were offered the opportunity to move to California where Tony took the position of President of Hobie Sports.  After a few years Hobie Sports was sold and we decided to open a new surf shop, World Core Surf.  Our first store was located in La Jolla, California and soon after we opened another about an hour north in the sleepy beach community of San Clemente.

Both the La Jolla and San Clemente stores became very successful businesses.  But after 17 years in California, we missed our island and knew it was time to come home.  Two years ago we opened World Core Surf in the Kona Inn shopping village 50 feet from where our very first store was located. 

World Core Surf offers a variety of name brand surf clothes, logo tees, sweats and shorts as well as island favorites. In our Kona location you can watch Tony shape a surfboard from start to finish through the big glass windows that peer into our shaping room.
